Compass is a high-tech real estate brokerage based in New York City. They primarily focus on luxury real estate in large markets around the United States. In 2021, Compass brokered the sale of over $151B in real estate, making them the second largest brokerage in the country. I worked with Compass over a 6 month contract as a Senior Product Designer for the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) team. This tool is primarily used by their network of 20,000 real estate agents to manage all aspects of their business. Many agents view this CRM as easier to use and more powerful than the ones provided by other brokerages, and see it as the main reason why they partner with Compass.

At Compass, I had a direct role in:

  • Collaborating with another designer to bring 2 way SMS to the platform. This initiative provided massive functionality for our users and fundamentally changed the way real estate agents interact with their CRM.

  • Designed and oversaw development for Tasks, a tool to supercharge our agents’ productivity. This tool empowered agents to keep track of follow-ups within their network, automate repetitive actions, plan future appointments, and more.

  • Designed a variety of smaller quality of life improvements that are necessary to maintain a sense of polish and continuity across a complex application.

  • Provided visual QA to development teams to ensure parity with design deliverables.
